I am an archaeologist, historian, museologist, and licensed tourist guide.

In Greek, my name ‘Selina’ means “full moon”.

I was born and bred in Ikaria, one of the most unique islands in Greece. Ikaria has instilled in me a deep love for nature and the sea.

With a Swiss mom and an Ikarian dad, I have mastered several languages such as Greek, Swiss, German, and English.

I am punctual like a proper Swiss and dance and have fun like a true Greek!

My academic background

Following the successful completion of my final exams in Ikaria, I was accepted into the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens to study History and Archaeology.
Winning a scholarship, I continued my studies at the University of Zurich in Switzerland, focusing on History and Classical Archaeology. I earned degrees in both fields while taking part in excavations and archaeological research in Greece and internationally.
My passion for exploration led me to join an exchange program at the University of Hamburg (UHH) in Germany, where I spent six months as a guest student.
Returning to Greece, I was eager to promote the culture of Ikaria. I pursued a Master’s degree in Cultural Informatics and Communication at the University of the Aegean in Lesvos, specialising in Museology.
To integrate my knowledge, I trained as a Licensed Guide at the state-operated School of Guides in Rhodes, completing rigorous training.
Now, with a rich tapestry of education and exploration, I am thrilled to guide you through the fascinating threads of history, archaeology, and cultural heritage of Ikaria as well as the rest of Greece!
