Exploring Ikaria’s Archaeological, Historical and Geological Past
Join us for an immersive journey through the vibrant history and culture of Agios Kirikos, the capital of Ikaria!
We’ll begin with a visit to the Archaeological Museum, followed by a guided historical walking tour through the heart of the village. Dive into the fascinating story of the Ikarian revolution against the Ottoman Empire and the creation of the short-lived Independent State of Ikaria in the early 20th century.
Afterward, take a relaxing break with a delightful coffee and explore a local store featuring unique Ikarian products. The journey continues to the captivating Drakano Archaeological Site, where we’ll explore one of the best-preserved ancient watchtowers in Greece, dating back to the 4rd century BC!
